JJ Twins - BIOGRAPHY
Julian & Jason Prins, Twin brothers known as JJ Twins, perform together in the local English music industry, have a passion for music that had them singing, performing, beatboxing & composing songs from the tender age of 10.
Influenced by the Backstreet Boys, Westlife, James Blunt & inspired by Akon to explore the R&B and Hip Hop scene. At the age of 9 the Twins were featured with the Band Damage to perform at Waters Edge to sing the song "Angel" by Robbie Williams.
Their first original song was one of the craziest songs titled "Dogs In The House" it was so funny that it was frequently requested by family members. Their second song "Only You and Me" a song never written to date, is all up there in their minds... Memorized and locked away... They say, "They like it that way." Drama being another passion of theirs the Twins joined the Work shop Players - Jerome L. De Silva and their first stage drama was Oliver Twist (2006) which was a success and the second stage drama was Les Miserable’s (2015).
At the age of 10 the Twins started writing and composing their own songs. The Twins took to playing the Guitar at the age of 13 years, parallel to writing songs. Throughout these years up until now the Twins have composed many of their original songs, this includes many Gospel songs as well.
They studio recorded their first ever two singles ‘Takes my heart away’ & ‘You’re my lover’ in 2012.
Anton Fernando - then a radio presenter at TNL gave the Twins this amazing opportunity to take part in a singing competition which was called "The Star Studded Rainbow" held at Lotus Pond, organized by the Gospel Rapper "Prince Leone" for which they came first in singing their originals. This gave them the exposure for a new beginning and started performing in various public events and have gathered fans from all ages.
JJ Twins have touched many hearts with their originals composed and written for many individuals and events. A farewell song was composed, written and sung by the Twins called "Remembrance" at a farewell Mass to their Parish Priest Father Mahindra Gunathileka in 2014.
JJ Twins won their first Gold & Silver Medals in the Duet Category and were declared All Island Winners at The Festival of Music organized by The Sri Lankan Festival For The Performing Arts in 2013 and 2014.
December 2014 the Twins released their first ever Christmas Album Titled "Christmas Lights" with two of their originals, featuring their two brothers Devon and Dennis in the album.
March 2015 JJ Twins launched their original Gospel single "Greater Than All" featuring Prince Leone. Their greatest achievement was being Awarded first place in the Group Singing category at FIA (Friends In Action 2015)
JJ Twins have performed at many places in Sri Lanka, to name a few, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Crescat Boulevard, Odel Promenade, Kzone, Good Market, Manchester and etc
In 2019 JJ Twins released their first ever 7 track cover EP titled “Across The Ocean”
JJ Twins have started their own Foundation “JJ TWINS FOUNDATION” which raises funds to help those in need.
The Twins have been featured in many top magazines, such as (IN VOGUE, CHOKOLAATE, SUNDAY ISLAND YOUTH MAGAZINE, SUNDAY TIMES MAGAZINE, DAILY FT & LOOK MAGAZINE- CEYLON TODAY

Our first big gig overseas started in 2018 in the Maldives. We perform six nights a week at a resort. We started at Adaaran Prestige Vadoo and we are now currently based in Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi and have been performing in the Maldives for the past 5 +years.
We have had the privilege to perform at 3 resorts from the Adaaran group, which are “Adaaran Prestige Vadoo”, “Adaaran Select Meedhupparu”, “Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi”. We have also performed at “Heritance Aarah Maldives”.
12 years of experience in the making and 5 + years of experience performing in the Maldives
